SHAMAN GARAGE - LOOPSCROLL
Loopscroll is an arcade installation that serves as an altar to the Olympus of the internet. Combining the addictive mechanics of slot machines with the nostalgic charm of retro gaming, it transforms the compulsive scroll of social media into a playful ritual. Set in a speculative future where memes are revered and remembered as sacred relics, the work reinterprets the folklore of the internet: icons, symbols, and creatures born of digital culture, as objects of worship to be preserved. By inviting players to pray through play, Loopscroll critiques platform capitalism, the architectures of online attention, and the human impulses these systems exploit, while celebrating the strange and chaotic beauty of the networks we inhabit.
Shaman Garage is a narrative-driven creative studio dedicated to exploring new experimental forms of expression through storytelling. Their work spans interactive games, interactive installations, and workshops that fuse digital art, analog techniques, and narrative theory. Integrated by Pablo San Gregorio, mathematician and interaction technologist, Pako Portalo, sound designer and multidisciplinar musician and Iván McGill, comic artist and speculative designer.
Loopscroll was created by Shaman Garage Studio especially for GOGBOT Festival, as part of the Cross-TIC program.
