VINCENT SCHOUTSEN - THE DREAMFEED
The DreamFeed™ (2025) is an interactive installation that takes your fears and anxieties and feeds them into the algorithm through its patented NeuroHarvesting technology. Promising a “frictionless existence,” the work exposes the eerie intimacy between attention, data, and control. Visitors physically interact with the machine, experiencing doomscrolling not as a passive habit but as an embodied ritual. Every swipe, every glance, every sigh fuels the collective algorithm, which grows and mutates with audience participation. The result is both satirical and unsettling: a mirror of our digital addictions where the illusion of choice collapses into algorithmic determinism. DreamFeed is not just a machine—it is a performance of our collective compulsion.
Vincent Schoutsen (@vinnieragua, 1984) translates the ephemeral world of digital culture into material, mechanical forms. Working with found and scavenged objects, he engineers physical counterparts for intangible phenomena, turning algorithms, glitches, and feeds into kinetic, trash-inspired sculptures that resonate with cyber art, sound art, and performance. His process often begins with mechanical experimentation, giving weight and presence to digital abstractions until they inhabit their own strange worlds. Referencing both popular and underground culture, Schoutsen creates works that blur satire and critique. With DreamFeed, he extends this practice into an immersive installation accompanied by mock-commercial videos, parodying the language of corporate tech while holding up a funhouse mirror to our own dependence on endless scrolling.
