Qwen Stefani Against Techfascism (2025)
!Mediengruppe Bitnik
Qwen Stefani is a tech-savvy counter-character to Gwen Stefani, the 90ies pop-feminist icon turned conservative Catholic influencer who, for years, has been promoting a subscription-based Catholic prayer app, founded with investments by Peter Thiel and J.D. Vance. Exploring the entanglement of spirituality, surveillance and data economy, Qwen Stefani builds a handbook of resistance and civil disobedience for the digital age.
!Mediengruppe Bitnik are Carmen Weisskopf and Domagoj Smoljo, contemporary artists expanding the digital to physical spaces. Based in Berlin and shown internationally, they interventions disrupt established structures: from hijacking surveillance cameras, and bug an opera house, to sending a camera to Julian Assange.
