Fanfictional Politics (2022)
Pedro Gossler
Fanfictional Politics is a video work that shows how political narratives are constructed from conspiracy theories, speculation, and collective myth-making. Connecting Steve Bannon, World of Warcraft and Putin advisor Vladislav Surkov, the work wonders what is presented as a fact in a media landscape where truth, fiction, good and evil become indistinguishable.
Pedro Gossler is a Brazilian interdisciplinary artist based in Rotterdam working across photography, video, and animation. His work investigates memory, archive, and how digital cultures reshape history. Gossler’s projects have been presented at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro, and the Sheffield International Documentary Festival among others.
