AN IMAGINARY SOCIAL MEDIA ZINE WORKSHOP BY KENDAL BEYNON & DANIEL MURRAY
Kendal Beynon and Daniel Murray will host the workshop Where have all the friendsters gone? to reimagine what online communities could look like if we built them ourselves. Together, participants will dive into the ghosts of early internet platforms, remix digital folklore, and create a collective zine that speculates on alternative futures of social media, far from today’s algorithm-driven feeds.
Kendal Beynon (UK/NL) is an artist and PhD researcher at CSNI in collaboration with The Photographers’ Gallery London, working with experimental publishing, internet culture, and digital history. Daniel Murray (IE), known for his expansive web projects like melonking.net, blends code, art, music, and storytelling to explore themes of belonging, nostalgia, and myth.
