FACEBOOK MUSEUM BY MARISSA MEMELINK

Last July, SETUP presented the world’s first Facebook Museum at Utrecht Central Station. Our aim was to get people thinking about Facebook’s cultural legacy. We've lost ourselves in the arms of Big Tech, but the story belongs to us. By proclaiming Facebook’s end, we wanted to make space to imagine life beyond it—and envision what could come after today’s social media landscape. In one week, we made major news headlines and welcomed over 5,000 visitors who shared their stories, experiences and even feelings of grief with us. SETUP's Marissa will share what we have learned during our week at Utrecht Central Station. We’ll reflect on Facebook’s “enshittification” and we’ll bring the end closer together.
